••• At 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, there’s a ribbon-cutting for the rebuilt Ashley Road bridge in Montecito. The reopening date had been said to be February 11, so it could open a day or two earlier.
••• Lotusland reopens for the season on February 19. You might pick up a piece of art while you’re there: “The exquisite artistry of Colette Cosentino once graced the perimeter of Lotusland’s Japanese Garden during its renovation. Each unique panel is now available for purchase. Compositions include stretched canvas selections and large free-hanging wall coverings. ••• On February 12, the Riviera Theatre is screening a sneak preview of the acclaimed Portrait of a Lady on Fire, which formally opens there two weeks later. Tickets here.
••• Two recent sales of note: the 12-acre HeartStone Ranch at 4188 Foothill Road sold for $6.8 million (having been listed for as much as $9.5 million); and 365 El Cielito sold for $7.6 million (down from $8.95 million). “Master flipper” Xorin Balbes bought it for $3.5 million in January of 2018 and almost certainly made a nice profit.
