The Post Announced Three More Tenants

••• The agenda for the March 3 meeting of the Architectural Board of Review includes the best look yet at the 443-unit apartment complex proposed for the Sears part of La Cumbre Plaza.

••• The Cold Spring bridge has yet to reopen—the target date is mid-March—but cyclists and pedestrians appear to be able to use it on weekends (when the workers aren’t around).

••• My Morning Jacket plays the Santa Barbara Bowl on August 20. Here’s hoping the band includes its cover of Erykah Badu’s “Tyrone.”

••• Rizzoli just published a new Santa Barbara coffee table book, Santa Barbara: At Home in Paradise. I went over to Tecolote Bookshop to take a look, and it’s handsome,* with enough unfamiliar properties—along with filler like Lotusland and Bellosguardo—to make it worthwhile. (*Except for how the author/photographer credits are placed awkwardly on the cover.)

••• The Metropolitan Fairview Theatre‘s days seem to be numbered, as the Goleta building is for rent starting in early 2026. It’ll be interesting to see how many movie theaters there are around here in five years.

••• The Post announced three new tenants (opening dates TBA): Brochu Walker and RLT, both of which sell womenswear, and Homebody Pilates.

••• Halo & Horns salon has left Coast Village Road.

••• The Santa Barbara International Orchid Show is March 7-9 at the Earl Warren Showgrounds.

••• The reference desk at the Santa Barbara Public Library’s Central branch has these cards, if you know anyone who might need one.

The 3845 State project is shown in the sites inventory as providing 131 moderate income units. That is impossible with the proposed design.

The Post would attract a lot more people if they had ANY place to eat….coffee, brunch, FOOD. Not a coffee cart LOL

Restaurants take much longer to open than shops. Little King Coffee’s café (which will have some food) and all-day restaurant Ospi should open in the next month or two. And I suspect there will eventually be at least one more casual option in the complex. (And Bogavante, in the former Stella Mare space, is technically part of The Post and will be ready later this year.)
