••• Buttonwood Farm & Winery outside Ballard is now serving food Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: “Chef Peter Cham, who you may know from our sister winery, Roblar, has brought his talents to Buttonwood Farm & Winery. On the menu: jalapeño cornbread, deviled eggs, ‘fancy’ pimento cheese spread with dungeness crab, Buttonwood Farm salad, bacon grilled cheese [above?], Chamburger, BBQ half chicken. Many of the ingredients are sourced from Buttonwood Farm and Roblar Farm, and the rest come from local or sustainable sources.”
••• And in Solvang, Peasants Deli‘s arcade opens February 9.
••• After I posted about the 35 Restaurants Expected to Open in Coming Months, word came that Alvaro Rojas (Milk & Honey) and Nadia Ajlouni (The Blue Owl) have dropped out of the plan for a rooftop bar at 700 Linden, the big multi-tenant development in Carpinteria.
••• Considered is a new coffee van you’ll soon spot around town: it officially debuts this Sunday, January 22, at We Want the Funk (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), and then the next day it’s at Validation Ale (7 a.m.-3 p.m.), where it’ll be fairly often. (The Independent has a profile about the endeavor.)
••• From Rincon Brewery: “Rincon Brewery in the Funk Zone finally got permits to do improvements and put in a full kitchen. Work has already begun. That Rincon Brewery location is temporarily closed and will be reopening hopefully in spring of this year with our full menu that matches the Carpinteria and Ventura location.”
••• It appears that the recent soft opening of Azul, the new Mexican restaurant on Anapamu (State/Anacapa), was a one-night-only event; the restaurant now says it will announce its grand opening this week.
••• Lunch service at the Tavern, the main restaurant at the Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, starts January 27, reports @805Foodie. And the dinner menu finally got put online. (The Tavern also has a dedicated website; some of the prices on that menu are higher.)
And here’s the bar menu for good measure.

Thanks, Erik for sharing about RB SB. Appreciate it.
I will make sure to keep you in the loop for when we expect to be able to open.
I hope Azul Cocina makes it, $30 for enchiladas is a bit steep!
