••• Flor de Maiz, the Los Agaves spinoff on E. Cabrillo (next to Oku), has opened. I had heard it would serve Oaxacan food, but the restaurant referred to its offerings as “contemporary Mexican cuisine.” It could still be Oaxacan, of course; we’ll see when a menu becomes available—or stop in and report back, as I’m out of town.

••• Onus Donuts, now open on State Street between Haley and Gutierrez, is worth a visit. The room is pretty spare, with an old-school diner-style counter.
