It’s impossible to go to Hammonds Beach in Montecito and not wonder about 1491 Edgecliff Lane, the house just to the west of the parking area. It was listed for $25 million in March of 2018 and removed five months later. It came back on in February of this year for $20 million. Now it’s down to $19 million, or technically $18,950,000. The inside could use some work, but locations don’t come much more glamorous.
A lovely 1929 house with a less desirable location—1406 Alameda Padre Serra—also chopped its price this week. It’s at $2.6 million, down from the original $2.9 million ask.
The house at 1570 Bolero Drive in Montecito has a pretty lavender field for a front yard and mountain views out the back. After three months at $4 million, it’s now at $3.9 million.
Live out your “Game of Thrones” fantasies at 117 Crestview Lane in Montecito. (One rarely sees a crenellated tower these days….) It’s at $5.45 million, down from the original $6 million asking price.
The cute California cottage at 43 Humphrey Road in Montecito—around a corner or two from the first house in this roundup, and definitely walkable to the beach—is $2.8 million, down from $2.85 million. The kitchen got blown out recently, which was a smart move.
