Mediterranean Restaurant to Open on De La Guerra Plaza

••• Chef Efe Onoglu, who has been hosting pop-up dinners and events for a while now, is opening a restaurant called Aegean at 731 De La Guerra Plaza. (He’s shooting for May.) This is great news because we can use more eastern Mediterranean food, but also because if the eventual revamp of De La Guerra Plaza is going to work, it really needs to have consumer-facing commercial elements on it. Here’s hoping whoever ultimately leases Bibi Ji’s old spot, next door to Aegean, has the same idea.

I don’t recall which location it was. Restaurant Guy has taken the post down, with no explanation, so either the info was inaccurate or the restaurant didn’t want it made public.

I read the article from Restaurant Guy and I’m pretty sure he said the Kyle’s in Goleta by Smart and Final.

I built the little building in the patio of 731 de la guerra for my juice bar and sandwich shop- “ the Yucatan Nectar Stand”
And my store “gone native” opened in the main building in 1980- we brought life to de la guerra plaza with music in the patio and events on the lawn! One love cat smith
