••• An update from Caltrans on the Highway 101 work underway in Carp: “The new northbound Highway 101 on-ramp at Linden Avenue is scheduled to open next week. Traffic will also move over to the recently completed side of the Casitas Pass Overcrossing, and freeway lanes will shift for the next stage of work. ••• After two pharmacy break-ins, the Montecito Association wondered aloud whether to add a private security patrol: “Should we look at hiring a private patrol service for Montecito? We have a great working relationship with the Sheriff, who polices our area, and SBPD, that handles Coast Village Rd. We also work with CHP as they patrol 192 and the 101. Do we need to bolster our security? We would have to find a way to pay for it, if the community wants increased patrols.”
••• From the City of Santa Barbara: “About 100 community members met at a Listening Workshop on October 1 to identify needs and desires for the future of the Milpas Street corridor. It’s not too late to provide your input about walking, biking, traffic, and lighting on Milpas. Take the survey by November 15.”
