Lighthouse Coffee Is Taking Over the Breakfast Culture Club Space

••• The Mesa’s Lighthouse Coffee is said to be taking the former Breakfast Culture Club space at 711 Chapala. Always great to see an independent business expand.

••• A few delicious local gift ideas: Sama Sama‘s wing sauce and highly addictive sambal tomat by the jar; Merci Montecito‘s Valrhona hot fudge sauce; and Bree’osh is baking its first batch of panettone, which should be ready Monday.

••• There was something to the whispers that the Enterprise Fish Co. at 225 State Street in the Funk Zone might not be long for this world: according to an ad in the Montecito Journal, the building is for sale (“with potential to develop additional 3000SF”) for $4.7 million.

••• “Entrepreneur Michael Vidal [launched] The Taco Station at 436B State St. [at Haley] at 5 p.m. Saturday. The truck has tacos, burritos and crispy bowls with names based on Santa Barbara street names. […] Vidal, a certified financial planner and partner with Cornerstone Insurance Services, has opened the business with his business partner, Laxman Perera, who also owns Sushi Teri and Santa Barbara Craft Ramen.” —Noozhawk

••• Brasil Arts Café on State Street got a reprieve, and it won’t be closing. “To keep it all going there will be restructuring, meaning the possibility of co operating with other businesses,” wrote owners Jenn and Daniel. “So if you yourself or you know someone that would be a good fit please send them our way. We are so open to ideas and changes!” —Restaurant Guy
