Jake & Jones, Jennifer Steinwurtzel’s popular boutique for women and kids on E. Canon Perdido, was only the start—there are not one but two new shops in the works.
First, in late September, J&J will open an annex devoted to menswear and objects, such as gifts and books, in the former Make Smith Leather Company space around the block (135 E. De La Guerra). And the company is celebrating its expansion with a warehouse sale there August 24-28: “Starting at 60% and going up to 85% on the final day! Plus, $1, $5, $10, $20 bins. All sales final. Online and in store. Online orders not guaranteed. 5-7 biz dates shipping. No large bags. No try ons.”
Second, Steinwurtzel is cooking up something totally new—under a different name—for the former Beads store next door on De La Guerra. I’m told we can expect “a fun cousin to Jake & Jones.”
P.S. As you might expect, the company is hiring.
