••• The developer of 121 W. De La Guerra (Chapala/De La Vina) has put a leftover parking space on the market for $57,500.
••• From the city of Santa Barbara: “Loma Alta Drive, from Coronel Street to W. Canon Perdido Street, will reopen to traffic on Friday, May 6. The road will close again in October 2022 and the City may shut this thoroughfare down in the future, to prepare for storm-related events.”
••• More photos got posted of 607 Sand Point Road, on the market for $23 million.
••• From Santa Barbara County Public Works: “This summer, the Santa Barbara County Public Works Department will install crosswalks with pedestrian activated flashing lights in Montecito, Mission Canyon, and in the Eastern Goleta Valley. The new crosswalks will be constructed at the following locations: Montecito (San Ysidro at Manning Park, San Ysidro at Mimosa, San Ysidro at Sinaloa), Eastern Goleta Valley (Turnpike at La Gama, Camino Del Remedio, South Patterson at Obern Trail), and Mission Canyon (Mission Canyon at Puesta Del Sol, Mission Canyon at Las Encinas).” I still wonder why there isn’t one at Cabrillo Boulevard and Los Patos Way.
••• Jake & Jones has a big market planned for this coming Saturday, May 7, at the Presidio. Expect more than 40 vendors, with refreshments and music.
••• I was bummed but not surprised to see on the Montecito Board of Architectural Review’s May 5 agenda that the 1900 house at 745 Ashley Road is slated for demolition. There a few photos of it here.
••• You may have noticed that Santa Barbara Junior High’s wooden flagpole hasn’t been replaced yet. “The flagpole is being shipped from the East Coast,” explained principal Arielle Curry. “Currently, the contractor of this project has installed the base. We are waiting for confirmation on when the flagpole will be officially shipped, and do not have a date at this time.”
