••• Corner Tap on the Mesa has reopened with a “new menu, new decor, and new management.” The official name, according to the logo, is Corner Tap Bar & Eatery, so it appears to be getting repositioned as more of a restaurant. The menu, with an emphasis on Detroit-style pizza (above), is much larger than it used to be.
••• Corazón sibling Beast Taqueria has soft-opened inside M. Special‘s taproom on State Street, but it’s still a work in progress.
••• Gala is now serving dinner on Tuesdays.
••• I only go to Sprouts occasionally for bulk granola ingredients, so I’m a month late on this, but the market has added a bunch of self-checkout stations.
••• The Independent profiled Saint Remy in the newish Courtyard by Marriott on State Street.
••• From Global Gardens in Santa Ynez: “Global Gardens has created an expanded ‘taste education’ format with our new Provisions Store at 3570 Madera Street. We just received our commercial kitchen permit and make food items on site for sale on site beyond our ‘normal’ lineup of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegars.” For example, you could book a private “Caliterranean cooking” class for a group of 8. And on June 24, the shop will host Señoreata‘s Evanice Holz for a vegan Cuban food pop-up from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

I’ve noticed the new Santa Barbara Hives store on upper State — what’s the “buzz” on it?
Visited it last fall: https://www.sitelinesb.com/first-look-at-the-plan-for-montecitos-dorinda-triangle/. I’m sure there’s a lot of new stuff and encourage you to check it out.
Gelsons is about to install self checks, too.
