Now available from the Miramar Food Truck for pickup and delivery via Grubhub from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Miramar To-Go will also offer a curated list of wine, beer and cocktails.” Pickup is “at the food truck located adjacent to Miramar Beach Bar.”
••• From Giovanni’s Pizza at 3020 State Street in the Restaurant Guy: “Starting Monday 4/6, we will be open daily from 3 p.m. till 8 p.m. for curbside pick up and delivery with Grubhub and Doordash. Friday and Saturday hours will be 3 p.m. till 9 p.m.”
••• The Sweet Wheel Farm & Flowers cart is back in action, this time at 2285 Lillie Avenue in Summerland: “Besides providing a community service, we are being safe and helping Summerland residents by also donating food to needy locals.” It’s open daily 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and a list of current offerings can be found on the website.
••• Bettina has increased its stock of provisions, with Rancho Gordo beans, chickpeas (the best), and lentils, among other items, and more is on the way. Some of that orange chili oil would taste pretty good on a big bowl of white beans, with some Bettina sourdough bread on the side….
••• “Local Harvest Delivery, a produce distribution company that brings the farm to your doorstep every Saturday with a box full of recently harvested fruits and vegetables,” is seeing a spike in business. “Since last month, their typical orders jumped from about 80 to more than 200, with an exponential boom in customer sign-ups. They expect that number to grow, and they are prepared to handle up to 275 boxes with the current staff but will cap the sign-ups there.” —Independent
••• New Solvang restaurant Peasants Feast did indeed open: “‘We basically stopped everything. We halted all construction, all remodeling, took a little bit of a break and really analyzed what we were going to do. We talked to each other, talked to the landlord and decided, we have to move forward. We have to open. We have to feed our community. We have to be involved in our community, and we have to give the people what they want. They want food, and a lot of people are having a really hard time getting food, and we’re here.
