••• Another tidbit from Radius Commercial Real Estate‘s third-quarter report: the ground floor of 1309 State Street (Sola/Victoria) has been leased by Atlanta-based Maune Contemporary Fine Art Gallery—a welcome addition to the city’s art scene—which plans on a soft-opening in January. And as previously reported, the second floor is being converted to an apartment.

••• Fascinating photo by Mike Eliason: “The highway bridge from the 1930s is once again visible at the east end of Cachuma Lake in the Santa Ynez Valley. The lake is at 48% capacity.”
••• The CALM Antique and Vintage Show & Sale is November 19-21 at the Earl Warren Showgrounds. “First show in two years, and it’s gonna be a doozy!” says Space Home & Garden. “In addition to the ‘usual suspects,’ there are many new vendors participating.”
••• Architect Robin Donaldson posted an aerial photo of the mound mansion under construction on Pepper Hill. That’s quite the solar array….

••• When we bought our house, it came with four foo dog sculptures—two small and two large. Not knowing what to do with them, I got the idea to turn the smaller ones into outdoor tables, and then I actually went and did it—with help, of course. Big thanks to Santa Barbara Forge (for creating the metal frame and drilling into the dogs’ heads) and Ponto Woodworking (for making the teak tabletops)! Once again, I’m amazed and delighted how much easier it can be to get something done here as opposed to in a much larger city.
