••• “Corner Tap has opened at 1905 Cliff Drive, the former home of Giovanni’s Pizza. The business is owned by Chris Chiarappa, who also owns Mesa Burger.” The menu is posted in the entryway so you can take a photo to peruse at the table (instead of being handed a hard copy). —Restaurant Guy
••• “Wineries, breweries and tasting rooms are now allowed to open as dine-in restaurants if they serve food or a meal, and dozens of businesses have already done so [….] Options on the permit include using a host kitchen, or contracting for a mobile food truck, catering, or restaurant-prepared meals with a third-party delivery service.” —Noozhawk
••• It sounds like Rose Café at 424 E. Haley might not be reopening. The restaurant has been around for 84 years. —Restaurant Guy
••• I checked in with the folks at Bristol Farms about when the La Cumbre supermarket might open. The company had been shooting for spring, but that got derailed by the pandemic. Now they’re saying that they’re “aiming for August 20 as a soft opening and August 22, Grand Opening. Currently we are in the hiring process. If we finish the hiring faster it might be earlier but our goal is no later than August 20.”
••• At the restaurant formerly known as Sambo’s, the signage for the interim name is up. No word yet on what the new name will be.
