••• Santa Barbara County finally issued a health order requiring people entering businesses to wear face masks, which the cities of Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, and Goleta have already done. (Not that folks in Carp are abiding, judging from a recent visit.) “The order goes into effect at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, and mandates that masks be worn ‘when inside of or in line to enter any and all businesses’ as well as “when using public transportation, a private car service, or a ride-sharing vehicle.’ […] Even more significantly, the order states that, ‘All businesses must require employees, contractors, owners, and volunteers to wear a face covering at the workplace and at off-site work locations.'” We’re likely going to be wearing masks for a while—why not zest things up with a Tom of Finland one? ••• The Montecito Planning Commission is dithering over the San Ysidro Roundabout, which is clearly needed. “The Montecito Planning Commission voted 4-1, with chairwoman Donna Senauer dissenting, to continue to review the conditions at a special meeting scheduled for June 10. At the June virtual meeting, the San Ysidro Road intersection roundabout is expected to be ready for approval with the conditions discussed.” —Noozhawk
