••• On Wednesday, Noozhawk reported that two nonconsecutive blocks of State Street would be closed to cars so that shops and restaurants can use the street. Yesterday, however, it said that “The city plans to open a State Street promenade, closed to cars, from Sola to Haley streets beginning at 4 p.m. Friday.” I don’t know whether plan changed, but the latter is indeed the case (as I confirmed with the city). UPDATE 5/24: It’s only for the holiday weekend.
••• “No Old Spanish Days Fiesta events will be held where large crowds can gather to protect volunteers, performers and community members from the spread of Covid-19 [….] The Old Spanish Days board of directors decided to reimagine this year’s Fiesta by holding many signature events remotely.” Also, the Stock Horse Show & Rodeo has been canceled. —Noozhawk
