More on the Patisserie and Café Coming to E. Canon Perdido

••• I heard from Alessia Guehr—daughter of the Nook’s Norbert Schulz—about Alessia Patisserie & Cafe, which she’s opening at 314 E. Canon Perdido (above), two doors down from Handlebar. “It’s a modern European inspired patisserie & cafe, we will serve a full breakfast and lunch menu, coffee, croissants, breakfast pastries, cakes, chocolates, breads, candies, etc. We’re still about five months away from finishing construction, if all goes well.”

••• Speaking of bread, this looks worth investigating: “Fresh olive bread! This will be a daily thing, but will sell out fast so call to place your order.”

••• Good news: the rumor of Cava’s demise was false. The restaurant reopens tonight.

••• And Green Table on W. De La Guerra has reopened.

••• In a promotion with Minor FiguresLow Pigeon will offer free oat-milk drinks on May 29.

••• “PizzaRev has permanently closed some of its locations, including in Santa Barbara and Camarillo, due to the impact of the coronavirus.” The Santa Barbara one was in Paseo Nuevo. —KEYT

••• I hadn’t realized that Buena Onda has branched out way beyond empandas, offering seven family meals—including eggplant parmesan, lasagna, and pascualina (below)—that can be ordered cold to heat up at home or even frozen, for later.
