••• Restaurant Guy posted that La Cantina in Noleta’s Turnpike Center will open next week, but proprietor Chris Chiarappa says that while that was the goal, it’s not happening. Look for it to open soon, though. UPDATE: Chiarappa says the menu that had been posted below, which was on the website, is old, so I removed it.
••• Tickets for the 40th-annual Santa Barbara Vintners Festival (October 19 at Vega Vineyard & Farm) are on sale now. “Attendees will have the opportunity to savor wines from more than 60 Santa Barbara County wineries [and] engage in conversations with the winemakers, gaining first-hand insights into their craft. The festival will also include a delicious selection of local cuisine from more than 25 prominent restaurants, chefs, and food producers. […] Along with the superb wine and food, guests can savor sparkling wines in the Bubble Lounge and enjoy live music provided by Generic Clapton all afternoon.” Let’s pause for a moment to admire Generic Clapton’s name. “Furthermore, this year’s festival has expanded into the vineyard, offering more space and a smoother flow.”

••• An announcement from Pony, née Pony Express, in Santa Ynez:
As of September 17, Pony will temporarily close for a slight décor refresh and to prepare for the launch of new dinner service and cocktails, reopening as Pony Cocktails + Kitchen in the coming months. The revised restaurant concept, with head chef Jonny McDermott, will offer new breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu items, a full bar featuring a cocktail program designed and executed by Alberto Battaglini, and the launch of that previously-mentioned dinner service. […] Once we reopen, Pony Cocktails + Kitchen will offer daily daytime menus, 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with dinner service Wednesday through Saturday, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
