Is Even More High-End Retail Coming to Montecito?

••• Cool British fashion brand Sunspel is taking over the former James Perse space at the Montecito Country Mart. And elsewhere in the minimall, the space between Alma Fonda Fina and Rori’s—once part of the dry cleaners—will indeed be a store, as suspected. UPDATE: J. says Sunspel will open at the end of September.

••• The Zegna menswear store at the Rosewood Miramar Beach has opened.

••• And more high-end shopping might be coming to Montecito: the folks representing Next Health, “a leading health optimization and longevity center” coming to 559 San Ysidro Road later this year, say that the new owner of the property has plans to redesign the property to feature premium retail. Of course, that can’t happen till the current tenants’ leases are up, which may not be for a while.

••• Caltrans has reopened “two lanes of Hwy. 154 between San Antonio Creek Road and Painted Cave Road […] following repairs to pavement cracking discovered on June 21 during an ongoing emergency slip-out repair project. Travelers will encounter intermittent lane closures Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Friday between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. to allow Caltrans to continue ongoing slide repair work and pavement reconstruction following a series of winter storms. During these lane closures, one-way reversing traffic control will be in place.”

••• The businesses of Summerland are throwing a block party—with music, food, and drink—from on July 27 (11 a.m.-4 p.m.).

••• Clairo plays the Santa Barbara Bowl on October 7.

••• My husband and I were fortunate to be invited to Lotusland‘s big summer benefit last weekend. It was a very fun party, but the highlight for me was actually leaving (and not for the usual reasons): guests all made their way to the exit along a beautifully lit path. Lotusland is magical at any time of day, but if you ever have the chance to see the gardens at night, go!
