••• “A busy SpaceX soon will be even busier with the addition of a second launch pad and a heavy rocket at Vandenberg Space Force Base, where the firm’s yearly liftoff rate could reach 100 in a couple years. […] From one launch four years ago to three the next year and 12 the following year, SpaceX expects about 30 liftoffs by the end this year. […] ‘Next year, we’ll be launching about once a week, but the plan, in about two years, is about every three to four days,'” said Nate Janzen, SpaceX manager of launch pad systems and operations. —Noozhawk
••• “It’s been more than two years since the Santa Barbara Coalition for Responsible Cannabis signed a peace treaty with a leading growers’ organization in the Carpinteria Valley. Today, the coalition says, that agreement is in tatters. […] However, as the private agreement breaks down, the politics of public policy may be shifting in favor of requiring the use of scrubbers in cannabis. Space X / Vandenberg need to create a text alert system notifying residents minute before take-off within 100miles of a rocket launch and sonic boom.
Uh- or read facebook- in fact Twitter has a great system already doing that- try it!
I know that X post the launches, but everyone it seems that 50+ people post on Nextdoor, Facebook, Reddit.. what was the boom? Being a tourist city some have no clue and other can’t keep track of the (postponed) launches. 911 claims to receive tons of calls from unexpected residents.
It has always paid off being a “it pays to seek information” vs “take what they give you ” type. Twitter is free!
Check out the @SpaceX hiring page- tons of great jobs at VSFB with 500 more approaching! I bet that really gets Salud Carbajals armpit sweaty- love how he’ll act like it was him that made it happen vs Elon Musk et
