When news broke last year about the Jake & Jones men’s shop on De La Guerra, it also came out that Jennifer Steinwurtzel and Alex Suhadolnik had plans for “a fun cousin to Jake & Jones” in the former Beads space next door at 137 E. De La Guerra Street (at Santa Barbara Street). Now we know what that means: The Eddy, an updated version of the corner stores you still see here and there around town—e.g., the Little Corner Store, Victoria Market, Presidio Market, and so on. The Eddy’s tagline promises “food, booze, flowers,” but not the usual Doritos and Coors Light. “The Eddy is a modern corner store that covers all the bases, from quality to comfort, basic to premium,” said Steinwurtzel and Suhadolnik. “Find grab-and-go lunch options from local partners like Revolver and Oat Bakery, natural wine, craft beer, pantry items, homewares, and essentials.”
It’s slated to open this summer, and the specifics are still being finalized. Weigh in by taking a survey—which also gets you 10 percent off your first order.

Cute! Looking forward to it.
Very excited for this – fills a gap in the neighborhood.
That sounds great, like a fancy 7-11? I’m in.
I’m a native Santa Barbarian. My dad had his own businesses when I was growing up. Local is better!!
This is awesome! We need more local business, supporting other local businesses. Can’t wait!
