Midcentury Conundrum on a Prime Lot Sells for $8.9 Million

Sales from the past two weeks….

618 HOT SPRINGS ROAD
Pre-pandemic, 618 Hot Springs had a hard time selling—it started at $6 million in mid-2019, got cut twice to just under $5.2 million, then finally sold in July 2020 for $4.343 million. The 2.28-acre flag lot is super prime, but the midcentury house at the north end needed a total redo, and if I recall correctly, you can’t build anything on the southern half of the property. The house got fixed up nicely enough to rent, presumably while the owner developed plans with an architect, but then he/she had a change of heart—and came out smelling like a rose.

Was 361 Hot Springs always a vacant lot, or was there a house there before the Thomas Fire mudslides?
