••• Costa, the fancier of the two restaurants at the Mar Monte Hotel on East Beach, says it’s opening for real in June. Right: dry-aged Santa Carota strip steak with frill mustard, pickled garlic scape, fava beans, and king trumpet mushroom. (Speaking of East Beach, what a shame that La Sirena at Cabrillo Pavilion appears indefinitely stalled.)
••• The Daisy resumes normal service this Thursday Friday, with hours still to be announced. Update: I got the day wrong. And the restaurant said it’s opening for dinner service.
••• The Independent profiles chef John Wayne Formica of Pico in Los Alamos, where the dinner menu looks pretty appealing.
••• Rascals, which has been selling vegan Mexican food out of Bibi Ji on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for a while now, is moving on from the restaurant (which I’d guess will restart its own service on those days). This week, it’s going out with a bang by having actual table service. To reserve, send a DM on Instagram.

••• Food truck El Pastorcito has opened a pop-up restaurant at 1915 De La Vina Street (Mission/Pedregosa), open Friday through Sunday, 5-10 p.m. Below: tacos de tripa.
••• El Pastorcito mentioned the Greenhouse on Milpas, which made me wonder if the “event venue with character” is up and running. Its Instagram account has been dormant for two weeks, but the site itself (behind the 7-Eleven, access via Gutierrez Street) has spaces cordoned off for food trucks. UPDATE: I spoke with the owner of Greenhouse on Milpas, who said the venue is not open yet and more details will be announced soon.
