••• As predicted, the Rosewood Miramar Beach resort is bringing its all-day restaurant in house; the chef of the Revere Room, as the former Malibu Farm space (above) will be known when it opens next month, is Massimo Falsini of Caruso’s.
••• The sale of the Nook fell through, so—good news for us—it’s business as usual at the Funk Zone favorite.
••• On warm days, the new Tondi Gelato on State Street is selling granitas, “Italian-style slushees that are super flavorful and refreshing, made with farmers market fruit.” Options the other day include tangerine, lime, and strawberry.
••• Ventura’s cool little Frontside Cafe is having a five-course pop-up dinner that sounds pretty delicious.
••• While picking up my Bagel Boiz bagels the other day, I couldn’t resist also getting a “mystery box” ($24). All I was told was that it was baked in house, it serves two, some assembly would be required, and that the goal was to make something that wasn’t already being done well elsewhere in town. I’m not going to share what was in our box, even though the next one will likely be different, but I will say that it was excellent and (could have) served four. P.S. The boxes are only available to people who preordered bagels.
