••• Some friends pointed out that Tyger Tyger hasn’t had a weekend “pop-up” in over a month and the kitchen looks cleared out. (Moreover, the website is dead.) According to a rep for owner Acme Hospitality, however, “the closure is not permanent and we are working on a reopening plan.” Here’s hoping the weeping brisket dish makes a return, too.
••• Elsewhere in that building, Better Burrito‘s breakfast burritos are now available at Dart Coffee Co., including a vegan one with cauliflower al pastor, turmeric tofu “eggs,” caramelized onions, pinto beans, Spanish rice, and bell pepper.
••• The owners of Aperitivo, the new Italian wine bar on W. Haley, are also offering retail bottles—handy in a part of town without many good wine stores.

••• The Independent has a nice look at the reinvention of Buellton’s Zaca Creek. Besides the Tavern at Zaca Creek, which opened a while ago, there’s apparently also “a more casual eatery called The Treehouse that’s gone from rendering to reality in just months.” There’s nothing about it online yet.
