••• The Earl Warren Showgrounds Flea Market—a.k.a. the swap meet—is back this Thursday, October 29, for the first time since March. And it should be bigger and better than ever, says one vendor: “With the Wednesday show in Ventura still suspended due to the pandemic, many of the vendors have decided to sign up for this Thursday’s show, and there’s a lot of buzz happening. [Organizer Sue Adams] plans on spreading the booths out, so everyone can maintain ‘social distances,’ and masks will be required, of course. We’re expecting a very good turn out—all vendors/dealers are hungry, and the picking is gonna be good!” The event runs 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., but people often show up earlier, and admission is free.
••• A trio of prominent Funk Zone buildings are for sale: 102 E. Yanonali (below), 202 Anacapa (where Santa Barbara Winery is), and 111 E. Yanonali (Lafond Winery), for a respective $3.125 million, $3.8 million, and $4.33 million—or $11.258 million for all three. The listing agent is positioning them as possible development opportunities, noting that the leases for Santa Barbara Winery and Lafond Winery end in July 2021.
••• If you’ve ever wanted to adopt a chihuahua, now is the time. According to a news release from County of Santa Barbara Animal Services, “a team of Santa Barbara County Animal Services staff impounded 104 dogs from inside a home in Lompoc. The owner relinquished legal custody of the dogs, the majority of which are Chihuahua and Chihuahua mixes [….] After assessing the situation, Animal Services staff quickly coordinated with rescue partners to find placements for all of the dogs who will be transported today to Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society, Santa Barbara Humane Society, Ventura County Animal Services, Ventura Humane Society, Woods Humane Society and Burbank Humane Society where they will be available for adoption.”

••• JJ sends word that there’s a neat property in Santa Paula on the market for $3.7 million: “This historic farm is home to the George Washington Faulkner House built in 1894. […] It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places which includes the landmark barn with its classic cupola built in 1886.
