Local Wineries Are Considering a Two-Percent Surcharge on Every Bottle

The staff and board members of the Santa Barbara Vintners [are] waging an informational campaign to convince a majority of the county’s winemakers to support the creation of a business improvement district, or BID, that would levy and collect this fee. ••• “There’s a new executive chef in the kitchens at the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara in Montecito. Michael Patria most recently was executive chef at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta. He replaces Marco Fossati, who left the Montecito property in late June for a new gig as executive chef at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail.” Great, but they really need to rethink the entire restaurant. —Ventura County Star
